***Please note that Mankwe Bush Lodge is currently closed as it is being rebuilt after the fire in 2016*** 8 Meru-style tented suites are individually erected on raised wooden platforms, which extend onto private decks with a view of the untamed bush.
The tall mopane trees provide mottled shade to every tent, while a canvas canopy roofs the deck and outdoor furniture.
Each room sleeps two people and has an en suite bathroom with a shower, toilet, and simple bathroom vanity complete with complimentary soap, shampoo and lotion.
A drop-down canvas flap can be closed between the bathroom and bedroom to offer privacy, while the windows and front entrance of the tent are shielded with bug-proof mesh screens and canvas flaps.
Each of tented suites contains two single beds (pushed together for double) complete with neutral tone linens, African-style cushions and a simple, woven floor mat.
The bedside tables each have wicker drawers, while a small wooden cupboard offers space for clothing storage.
Solar power heats the geysers for hot water in the showers and taps, and drinking water is provided in a flask and replenished daily, or on request.
Towels and extra blankets are provided, as is insect repellent and complimentary bathroom cosmetics.
There are separate light switches for the bedroom and bathroom, which are powered by solar to suite the eco-friendly operation of the camp. Paraffin lanterns light the sandy pathways to and from the lodge at night.
